The OSSE Division of Early Childhood Education announces Request for Applications for Fiscal Year 2012 Out-of-School Time Services for Children from Limited English Proficient Asian, Latino, African and Other Newcomer Communities..Pre-Application Conference August 24, 2011.
The Division of Early Childhood Education (ECE) is committed to improving the quality and expanding the supply of early education providers in the District of Colombia. ECE is also committed to enhancing access to high quality out-of –school time services for families from Limited English Proficient Asian, African, Latino, and other Newcomer Communities.
ECE is issuing this Request for Applications (RFA) to increase the number of out-of-school time services for at-risk children, five (5) to eighteen (18) years of age, from Asian, African, Latino, and other Newcomer Communities in the District of Columbia, and whose parents have Limited English Proficiency and meet the income requirements under Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) regulations.
Funds in the amount of four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) are available to support grants awarded under this RFA. The Application due date is September 16, 2011.
Eligibility: Applications are requested from organizations that can provide the required services. This includes licensed child care providers, not-for-profit organizations, faith-based organizations, and private and for profit community-based agencies currently serving the needs of the target populations. Organizations serving District of Columbia Wards 1, 5 and 7 are strongly recommended to submit an application.
Important Dates: The RFA is available immediately. The Pre-Application Conference is on Wednesday, August 24, 2011.
